Kevin was a rigourous and meticulous thinker. His first degree at the University of Alberta was a B.Sc. in Biology. Kevin's strong scientific background played an important part in his career in the biotechnology sector which, shone alongside the other features of his multifaceted personality.

Kevin also loved literature, and literature led him to philosophy. He earned his doctorate in philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven in 1988 with a grade of Magna cum laude. His Ph.
